Shelter Location: Craigsford Earlston Scottish Borders TD4 6DJ

**WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM PEOPLE LIVING IN THE SCOTTISH BORDERS AT THIS TIME**

Please note that the rescue centre is currently closed to members of the public as per our Covid guidelines!

We have been asked to help to relocate some feral cats. We are looking for homes on farms or stables but due to current restrictions, you must live within the Scottish Borders.

The cats will need somewhere secure they can be kept for at least 2 weeks so they get to know their new home and they will also need to be fed as they are used to being fed where they currently are.

There has been cat flu in the feral colony and so they cannot be rehomed along other cats since they may not have symptoms but could still be carriers and spread it to other cats.

We are looking to rehome them in pairs or more from within the colony. They will be wormed, deflead and neutered where needed before going off to their new home.

If you live within the Scottish Borders and can provide the above situation for feral cats, please click HERE to apply. (Please note we reply to all applications so if you do not have a reply within 24hours, please check your spam folder)

A home with a garden, An experienced owner, Away from the city centre

Meet Oliver

Oliver is looking for an experienced owner who has had a feisty cat in the past. He needs an adult only environment where he will be the only pet. He will need direct access to a garden through a cat flap so he can go outside when he wants to. He would suit a quiet area away from the city centre, where there is enough land around for him to explore freely.

Oliver is an independent boy who isn’t used to being handled much. He prefers his own space and likes to come and go when he wants. He loves his food and likes getting tasty cat treats. He is playful and likes to have fun with feathery toys and balls. Oliver is never likely to be a lap cat but may enjoy a bit more fussing when he feels settled. He would love to find an understanding and patient owner who will let their relationship develop at a pace he is happy with.

How To Rehome

To rehome Oliver, please read more about our rehoming process.

Blue

Blue at Borders Pet Rescue

A Male Domestic semi-long haired who is age Unknown

Not Good With Other Pets

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Craigsford Earlston Scottish Borders TD4 6DJ

Blue is looking for a special home. He was originally brought in to us from a farm as a feral but he is currently in a foster home and is making good progress towards becoming friendly but is still a shy boy and cannot be picked up, although he does like a wee head scratch. As he was a feral, we don’t know much about his history or how old he is but feel he is quite young – maybe about 1 year old.

As Blue has had Cat Flu there will be times when this flares up again and he will need some Biosolvin powder to help break up any mucus, he cannot be rehomed with other cats as he will be a carrier of Cat Flu which would spread to other cats.

Shelter Location: Craigsford Earlston Scottish Borders TD4 6DJ

Jade came into as a stray from a farm and although she has shown no signs one of her kittens does have cat flu meaning that she could be a carrier. Jade has started to come around to us humans and we are sure in the right home she will learn to trust her new owners.

Jade will be looking for a quiet home with little going on that may stress her as stress may cause her to have Flu flareups. Jade is also looking for a home where she would have access to outdoors once she had settled.

As Jade could be a carrier of Cat Flu there could be times when this flares up, she also cannot be rehomed with other cats as she is a carrier of Cat Flu which would spread to other cats.

Ideal home location

A home with a garden, A quiet home, An experienced owner

Meet Cheeky

Cheeky is looking for an experienced owner who is prepared to clean his teeth every day. He would like to be the only pet in a home without children under 16. He will need direct access to a quiet and secure garden so he can explore when he feels confident enough.

Cheeky is a nervous wee boy who is shy around people that he doesn’t know, but he is friendly and sweet with people that he trusts, and he loves to be made a fuss of. He can be unsure of lots of things so his new owner must be understanding of this and give him reassurance when he needs it. He loves snoozing in his comfy bed and likes to have fun chasing after a light. He will need company for most of the day, especially while he is getting used to his new environment.

How To Rehome

To rehome Cheeky, please read more about our rehoming process.
