Robbie at Dogs Trust - Glasgow

A Male Black and white Border Collie Cross who is age 8+

Contact Shelter

Shelter Location: 315 Hamilton Road Uddingston Glasgow G71 7SL

Likes and dislikes:

Robbie loves to play ball games and learn new things. Robbie is nervous in new situations and takes his time to get to know people.

Type of home needed:

Robbie can live with children who are 16 years old or over. He would prefer a quiet household to settle into with someone who has experience of owning collies. He needs a secure garden to run around and get some time to play off lead. A home with calm, quiet areas to walk in would also benefit him.

More about me:

Robbie would need several meets at the centre to build a relationship before going to his new home.

Minstrel at Greyhound Awareness League

A Male Black Lurcher who is age ~2

Good With Children Not Good With Other Pets Not Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: Kennels

Minstrel is a lurcher, who is approximately two years old and is a gorgeous, affectionate and playful boy. In the home environment he is calm and relaxed. He loves cuddles and is fully housetrained.

Minstrel has had some basic training in the past but has also taken to clicker training with enthusiasm! He loves to interact with people, although he can be a little shy around men initially, and responds well to praise and encouragement. Minstrel bonds strongly with people and he does have some mild separation issues but these could be improved on greatly within a home environment.

We don’t think that Minstrel has had the opportunity to learn about things that he may encounter outside of the home environment and as a result finds this stressful and is not comfortable with other dogs. Minstrel would have to be the only dog in the home and he does not like cats.

Minstrel needs a special home with someone understanding who would take the time to help him gain confidence, to settle and enable him to carry on with his training plan; this would be fully supported by a Canine Behaviourist who currently is working with him. This is what she has to say about him;

‘Minstrel is a lovely boy who needs a calm environment to improve his confidence and to continue with his training. He took to agility and clicker training instantly and is improving greatly on his impulse control. Anyone who considers taking him into their home would see that with patience and understanding he has huge potential’.

Poppie

Poppie at Sunny Harbour Cat & Kitten Rescue

A Female Tabby Domestic short-hair who is age 5 to 6 months (kitten)

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: 70 Bank Street Lochgelly Fife KY5 9QN

I would like to introduce you to our dear little Poppie. She is a lovely, affectionate and boisterous little kitten of 5 to 6 months old who has found herself at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue through no fault of her own.

She has settled into life at Sunny Harbour easily and although not a huge fan of her fellow residents she doesn’t let it put her off her stride and she will play all day and all night, should the urge take her.
image

Her favourite toys are her ping pong balls, mice and her purple Wubba and its not uncommon to have just cleaned out her pen and come back 5 minutes later to find she has turned everything upside down and all around!

This little girl loves to climb and explore and goes crazy for some interactive play in the form of a feather tickler or laser pen.

Ideally we are looking for a fun loving cat orientated person(s) who would like to add Poppie to their family. Having always lived indoors our preference is for this to continue and prior thought, imagination and enthusiasm given to meeting her needs in this environment.

We are as always happy to advise and provide ideas.

Due to poppies rather exuberant personality she can charge around quite fast not looking where she is going so for that reason we feel she would be better around older children 8yrs +, preferably used to cats.

Poppie is very much overflowing with the joys of life and she is quite the comic and will certainly make you smile every day.

It would be good for her to have some company through the day so couples doing shift work or people working from home sometimes would be ideal for our little girl.

Poppie has been spayed and will have at least started her vaccinations and be treated for fleas & worms and microchipped on leaving Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.

If you feel you could offer Poppie the stimulating home she deserves then please do send us a Sunny Harbour's adoption application form via our website. Please note your interest in Poppie.

A Male Dog who is age: 5

Not Good With Other Pets Not Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: South Lanarkshire

Harry is in rescue through no fault of his own and is in need of an experienced foster home.

He's approx 5 years old and is a very big and bouncy lad and needs someone to work on his basis obedience and help him to de-stress through calm and relaxed play and learning.

He can be reactive to other dogs so would need to be in an only dog home and he does not like cats either. It might be with time that he can encouraged to be around dogs socially but this is something that will need to be fully assessed and worked on.

He does also need a home with children over the age of 12 - this is purely due to his size and bounciness. He would also benefit from a quiet home with someone at home as much as possible and with a with secure garden.

We will be offering full behaviour support for Harry as he is geniunely lovely lad who just needs the right guidance. We also cover all costs for fosterers including all food, equipment and any vet costs incurred.

He is also fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

If you think you could give Harry the help and love he needs please fill out an application form and we will get in touch.

Mitch at Dog Aid Society of Scotland

A Male Red Dogue De Bordeaux who is age 6 and a Half Years Old

Not Good With Children Not Good With Other Pets Not Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter

Shelter Location: 60 Blackford Avenue Edinburgh EH9 3ER

Mitch is a beautiful big boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. We are looking for a new home for him where his new home will have a good knowledge of and have previously owned Dogue de Bordeaux’s. Mitch can be wary of people when he first meets them, however given time, patience and lots of yummy treats he learns very quickly that you mean him no harm. Mitch has never had any contact with children therefore we are looking for an adult only home for him. Mitch will bark when people come to the door, however will settle. He is a gentle natured dog with his family and loves to interact with them.

Mitch is a big softy at heart and loves nothing more than playing with his toys. He loves a ball and particularly loves a squeaky toy. He is happy to be left for short periods of time and is not destructive when left. He walks well when he has a Halti on. Mitch is not great off lead. Unfortunately Mitch has not had very much interaction with other dogs and will bark at them, this possibly may be that he is scared of them. Positive training and reinforcement may help Mitch to overcome his fear and make him more manageable around dogs. Mitch travels ok and will happily get in and out of the car.

Mitch would love to live in a house that had access to his own secure garden. He would love an active home where he would go for regular walks. As he is wary of people his new owners will have the time to help him settle in. Can you offer him a new forever home?

Please think carefully before applying for Mitch and think how any changes in your circumstances may affect your ability to care for him. If you would like to be considered to re-home Mitch please click on the green register your interest button on his page on our website www.dogaidsociety.com and this will take you to our application form. Once you have completed and sent the form you will receive an automatic response to your email address that you have supplied. This means we have successfully received your application.

Medical Needs: Mitch has previously has had cruciate operations on his back legs. He also suffers from skin infections.

Contact Shelter

Shelter Location: Forteviot Kennels Forteviot PERTH PH2 9BS

Ice & Storm were brought to us as strays in August 2015. They are the best of friends and both us and the boys would like them re-homed together although we will separate for the right home.

The boys are very friendly towards people but we cannot re-home to anyone with young children or cats as we do not know their history. Ice loves to play with his favourite ball and loves destroying squeaky toys and picking the fluff off of tennis balls. Storm likes you to tell him how beautiful he is all day - which he is absolutely is!

The boys are quite strong and will require a strong and fit person to exercise them, we would like their new home to have a lovely big garden for them to play in too.

*** LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME ***

POPPET
8years
Vaccinated, chipped & spayed
Looking for pet/child free home.

Poppet came into our care after being dumped by her 'owners', she was in a horrendous condition and had just had major surgery due to pyometra. She arrived skin and bones and quite nervous. Thankfully Poppet has really improved since arriving with us and is now much healthier and her weight is continuing to improve.

Poppet is looking for a pet free/child free foster home with training experience. She is very clean in her kennel and non destructive. Poppet spent her life crated and was only fed "if they remembered" and this has obviously had an impact on her. She is not good with dogs/cats and will take any opportunity she sees to get food, for this reason she is looking for a child/pet free foster/forever home.

Poppet is a very happy girl and will wag her tail at any chance she gets 😊 since coming into our care she has grown in confidence and is testing the boundaries a bit and will jump around and bark if she gets excited, she doesn't quite know what to do with her new found freedom/energy so would love a home that will work on some training with her to mentally stimulate her, she can sit/give a paw/lie down.

If you think you have the time to give Poppet please apply via our website.
