A Male Border Collie who is age 5 months
Dovecotewell, by Glencaple
Dumfries and Galloway
Approx Age: 5 months
Monty is a very playful and active boy with endless energy to burn, he loves running and chasing his ball. Although very friendly, he is under socialised and has been known to bark at strangers. Monty has come from a very rural home so doesn’t have any experience with busy places or traffic. He has met children and been fine with them however, he has never lived with them. The only other dogs Monty has shared his space with were his mother and siblings so would need help with socialising. He has no experience living with cats, we are unsure of how he would act around them. Monty loves attention and travels ok in the car. He likes being brushed and has good recall (Whistle trained). He is quite happy to be left on his own for short periods of time as long as he has plenty toys to keep him busy. Monty has been house trained.
Monty was brought into the centre as he was the remainder of a working stock litter.
Monty is looking for a very active home with an owner who understands he will need help with further training and socialising. He will need a very secure outdoor space as he has been known to jump fences. Monty would prefer an owner who is home most of the day to spend plenty time with him and help build his confidence.
