The following is the information they have given us about Shadow.
Shadow is around 5 years old and is a German Shepherd Cross. He is looking for an experienced owner who can help him settle into his new home and give him some stability, the poor boy had a few homes before coming in to us so his next home needs to be his forever home. Shadow has been in our care for over a year now through no fault of his own.
Although he is really a gentle giant, Shadow is a very big and powerful dog so anyone interested must seriously consider if they are physically able to manage him. Furthermore, being such a big dog, he will need a home where he has enough space inside and also a fully secure garden which is big enough for him to play in.
Shadow is looking for a quiet home without young children or cats and while he doesn't mind spending a bit time with some other dogs he would really prefer a home where he would be the only dog but we would consider rehoming Shadow with the correct dog.
Due to some experiences in Shadow's previous homes, he doesn't like his rear end being touched much and isn't particularly keen on rough-and-tumble play or being overly excited during play so you must be able to read when he isn't happy with this.
Shadow can take a while to learn to trust new people but when he does, he is your best friend and loves to give a paw!
Anyone who adopts a dog from us is welcome to use Bramble’s Field which is our 10acre field to work on things like recall and also give the dogs a run in a fully secure area.
The centre staff members are available to give ongoing support and help with any issues where possible
