Bertie’s looking for a very special foster to adopt home who will continue the superb work his current foster family have been doing to build his confidence.
Bertie could do really well living in a rural or semi rural location but definitely cannot live in a very noisy and busy area due to his anxiety and nervous nature. Bertie is worried by new situations and takes time to build trust with new people. Due to this we are looking for a home where there is limited visitors and an adopter who is willing to visit Bertie multiple times to build a relationship before we look at moving him from his current fosters.
Bertie is a strong boy and must walk with a head collar and his loose lead walking is work in progress. He loves going to the freedom field for a run around and lots of sniffing with his brother who he has play dates with.
Berties fosters have been working alongside a behaviourist/trainer to help Bertie build his confidence around everyday situations including going for walks.
Bertie gets overwhelmed easily and so someone experienced with nervous dogs would be an advantage. Bertie is currently on medication for his anxiety and nervous nature and this will be discussed further with any suitable applicant.
Bertie loves his toys and chews and this can be great for helping distract Bertie in the home from passers by and outside noises. Bertie loves to bark at the window!
Bertie really is a loveable big lad who will flourish with the right home and guidance.
