OLIVER

Male

6 years

Oliver has sadly been returned to our care, after almost 4 years in a home, through absolutely no fault of his own (change of circumstances).

He is 6 years old, quite small for a boy and is a friendly, happy boy. Ideally we want his stay in kennels to be as short as possible as he has been used to his home comforts.

Oliver is fine with other greyhounds and is trainable to be around other breeds.

He really deserves another chance.

Bear is looking for an owner who have had big dogs before and can continue his basic training. He would like access to a garden, so he has another space to run around in. He may be able to live with high school aged children who are dog savvy and possibly another dog who won’t be worried by his size.
Bear is truly a super friendly, lovable goof ball who loves saying to hello to everyone he meets. He loves human company so much that he can find it difficult being on his own so his new owner will have to be willing to work on gradually building up his leaving hours over time. He does not realise his own size and can be boisterous at times so would be best suited to an owner who are confident in handling large dogs and are committed to working on his basic training to help him become a well-mannered, polite boy. He is full of energy, enjoys long walks and loves running around our paddocks with a soft toy in his mouth.
Bear does play nicely with other dogs most of the time but can sometimes get a bit over the top. He may be able to live with another dog who matches his energy pending a successful introduction.

Teddy is looking for an experienced and active owner who have an understanding of nervous dogs. He would like access to his own private garden so he has his own safe space to enjoy the outdoors, and he will need to be kept company all day. Teddy is looking to be the only pet in an adult only home.
Teddy is a bit of a sensitive soul but, with time and patience, has the potential to make a fantastic companion. He lacks in confidence when it comes to saying hello to new people and is still currently undergoing training so his new owners must be prepared to visit him at the Home a few times to do some training sessions before he is ready to leave.
Teddy is extremely affectionate and loving once he knows you. He is loyal to his favourite people and is very eager to please, particularly when you have a tasty bit of cheese or hot dog on offer. He is full of energy who loves running around chasing after his toys and is known to get the zoomies when you take him to the beach so he will need to be kept active, so he doesn’t become bored. Teddy does get on with other dogs, and he will benefit having confident dog walking buddies to go out with, but he can be a bit much for some so is best suited as an only pet so his new owners can focus on him.

Arlo and Poppy are looking for a home together with an owner who are committed to working on their basic training and they will need to be kept company all day whilst they settle in. They are looking to be the only pets in the home but may be able to live with older children.
Arlo and Poppy are an adorable duo who can be a little shy to begin with when meeting new people but are quick to come around. They are both very much lap dogs and would happily curl up for all the affection and loving they deserve. They do enjoy human company and can struggle being left alone so would like an understanding owner who have the patience to gradually build up their leaving hours over time. They are energetic, playful and love going for their walks together or alongside other doggy friends. They will no doubt make wonderful additions to their new family.

Rocky has been matched to several applicants now which means we are no longer accepting new interest for him.
Rocky is looking for an active owner who has owned a dog before and can keep him company most of the day until he settles into his new home. He may suit living with older dog savvy teens and is looking to be the only pet in his home.
Rocky is a lovely boy who can be wary of new people but soon comes round with a tasty treat. He can be very food motivated but loves it so much that he has previously shown that he isn’t always keen to share so will need an understanding owner who can manage this. He’s full of energy and loves to go on walks to the beach where he can dip his paws in the water or do lots of sniffing. He would make an excellent running partner so would thrive with an active owner. Whilst Rocky needs to be the only pet, if introductions are done properly, he does have some doggy pals that he enjoys going out with.
Rocky has had some veterinary treatment whilst with us, more information will be discussed with successful applicants.

A home with garden

Nala is looking for a quiet home with an experienced owner who understand terriers and the quirks they can have. She will require access to her own private garden so she has a safe space to enjoy the outdoors away from other dogs. Nala will need to be the only pet in an adult only home.
Nala may be small, but she does have a spicy personality. She certainly knows what she does and doesn’t like but, by managing her interactions carefully, her new owner can avoid any unnecessary frustrations. Nala can be loving and affectionate with those she knows, but can be nervous around unfamiliar people so the best thing is to give her space until she feels ready to say hello.
The key to winning her over is by playing with her toys which she would happily do all day if you gave her the chance. She is uncomfortable around other dogs, but she does have bounds of energy to burn off so will require plenty of exercise in quieter areas to keep her happy and she may even enjoy doing scent work. Nala has a lot of potential to make a fantastic companion for someone willing to put the work and time into her.

Sandy is looking for an active owner who have a good understanding of dog body language. She would like her own private garden so she has her own safe space that she can enjoy peacefully. She needs to be the only pet in an adult only home.
Sandy is a lovely girl who can be unsure of new people to begin with, but with the help of a treat or her favourite toy, does warm up and enjoys a cuddle once she is comfortable with you. She can be worried by being handled too much and is wary in the vet, so she requires a very understanding owner who can see when she starts to feel uncomfortable and have the patience to help her through this. Sandy may be a little older, but this does not slow her down! She is full of energy; LOVES running around after her toys and thoroughly enjoys her walks. She would love to explore new places where she can put her nose to good use and would be happy to have dog walking buddies alongside her.
Sandy has had some veterinary treatment during her stay with us. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.

Lovable guy looking for a second chance at life.

This is the very handsome Buster. Recently life has thrown him a curve ball and he has found himself looking for a fresh start. He has been in the same home since he was a pup so this is all very new to him.

His previous family said he was fine around children and cats, coped well around other dogs - although  he isn't so keen on small dogs, travels well in the car and has been housetrained.

He is an active boy who enjoys getting out and about and loves a good run in the paddock.

History

Buster's previous owners had to make the tough decision to rehome him due to their health issues.

Re-homing Criteria

Buster loves being out and about so he is looking for an owner who is up for daily walks and little adventures. He could potentially live with another dog and also could live with cats. His recall is ok but a secure garden would be ideal. He is happy to be left on his own for short periods of time.

Name: Kimi
D.O.B: 10/12/2024
Gender: Female
Location: Ayr, Scotland

Kimi is an absolute poppet of a puppy and is actually one of a litter of EIGHT bothers and sisters … We will be travelling her beautiful mama and her 7 siblings soon, but as Kimi was poorly as a pup and needed to be taken away from the litter (who then would not accept her back), we decided to travel her first.

I cannot begin to tell you how totally perfect she is and she’s as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Kimi is just the most friendly and loving little bundle of fluff you will EVER meet and is a firm favourite at the rescue.

She loves everyone she meets and already has lots of human and doggy friends. She lives in the house and is already crate and house trained, but will need work with other basic training as she’s only a baby. We haven’t done any lead work with her yet, but I’m sure she will take that in her stride just like she has everything else.

Kimi is currently 5 months old and is still quite small, so we expect her to be in the medium size range when fully grown, but obviously this is just a guess as we do not know who her daddy was.

Kimi is fully vaccinated to UK standards, up to date with flea and worm treatments and has had a negative UK brucellosis test. She is not spayed as she is far too young and this will need to be done three months after her first season.

If you have room in your heart and home for this stunning little love bug please pop on to our website at www.savingandrehomingstrays.org and complete an application form.

Please note a home check and adoption fee apply....Thank you!

Can live with
Teenagers

DJ is looking for an owner who can keep him company for some of the day whilst he settles in. He may be able to live with teenagers and can have doggy friends of similar size but would like to be the only pet in the home.
DJ is a handsome, laid back lad who will make a fantastic addition to his new family. He may be a bigger boy but really, he is a kind soul who is friendly with everyone who comes to say hello to him and he would happily place himself on your lap for lots of cuddles and fussing. He is a dream on the lead and enjoys his walks down to the beach or running around our paddocks for zoomies or tennis ball chasing.
DJ has made doggy friends similar to his size that he is happy to walk alongside but he can be worried by dogs who run up to him unannounced so his new owner will need to be mindful of this. He is very clever and easy to train as he is so motivated by his food! He is very much a lurcher and after a good walk, can be found happily snoozing in his bed or sunbathing on warm days.
DJ has had some veterinary treatment during his stay with us. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.

Scout is looking for an owner who have preferably dealt with nervous dogs before. He will need company for some of the day whilst he settles in and access to his own private garden. Scout is looking for an adult only home but may be able to live with a female dog depending on introductions.
Scout is a sweet wee boy who can be nervous of new people to begin with and needs time to make friends. He loves a tasty biscuit which helps him warm up and will happily show off a trick or two for his reward for being brave. He also really enjoys his enrichment sessions, particularly a tasty filled kong or a likimat which will also help him gain confidence whilst he settles in. He enjoys his walks, is playful and loves running around our paddocks chasing after a squeaky toy. Scout can be wary of some dogs but is okay with most of the small dogs he has met so whilst it isn’t a necessity for him to live with another dog, if he was to live with one, it would have to be a female.
It has been a long road for Scout, and we are extremely grateful to those who supported us so we could get him to where he is today. He deserves the most loving home he could ever wish for.
Scout has had surgery on his knees during his stay with us. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.

A Little Cutie with a Big Heart!

Freda is a sweet and affectionate girl who adores cuddles and playing with her toys.

She’s not too fussed about other dogs but she can't be rehomed with cats. If you’re looking for a loving companion who enjoys both playtime and snuggle time, Freda could be the perfect addition to your home!

History

Unfortunately, Freda came into the centre as a stray.

Re-homing Criteria

Fabulous Freda is just the sweetest girl. She adores company so she is best suited to a home where someone is around most of the time. We would be looking for a home with a garden that is totally secure where she can play safely. Freda does not seem too fussed at the dogs she meets on her walks around the centre so she may be able to live with another dog in her new home, she would not be suited to living with a cat. Freda has bundles of energy so we would be looking for a family who can match her enthusiasm of life !As she has come into us as a stray we do not know her background with children so we would be looking at families with older children for her. This girl is just a wee diamond and she is looking for a loving home where she will get plenty of attention, lots of playtime and as many cuddles as she desires ! If you feel you could be what she is looking for please do get in touch !

Lola – The perfect blend of fun and love!

Meet Lola – a fun-loving Poodle x Lab with plenty of personality!  She’s been great with children (from toddlers to 10-year-olds) and has been known to get along with other pets like dogs and rabbits however, we don't know how she would be with cats.  Lola is housetrained but isn’t a fan of being left alone for long—she tends to get stressed and bark.  Lola is always up for an adventure and loves her walks, though she can be a bit strong on the lead and her recall still needs some work.  She’s not a fan of busy roads and can be reactive around heavy traffic, so quieter walking routes would suit her best. Lola loves a good grooming session, although car rides aren’t her thing.  If you’re looking for an energetic, affectionate companion who’ll keep life interesting, Lola might be just the one for you!

History

Lola was handed into the centre for rehoming due to a change in circumstances.

Re-homing Criteria

Our gorgeous girl Lola is looking for a steady home where she can settle into a routine.  She really does not like to be left alone and can get quite stressed so having someone around most of the day is a must.  While Lola has previously lived with young children, we've found that she thrives best in a calmer environment and would be better suited to a home with older children who can respect her space.  Lola can be selective with other dogs—some she gets along with, others not so much—so careful introductions are a must.  She’s also quite the escape artist, so a secure garden and vigilant supervision are essential.

Lola needs a calm home that can teach her that the world is not as scary as she sometimes thinks it is.

This girl is the sweetest and she just loves cuddles and spending time with the staff and volunteers here at the centre, and she has definitely worked her way into our hearts.  Could you let her work her way into your heart too?

Our Remarkable Reggie is looking for some stability in his life!

This young lad is full of so much energy and just loves nothing more than zooming around our paddock with his friends!

He is a sweet boy who can be a little shy in new sutuations but his daft, fun side soon comes out once he feels comfortable.

History

This handsome boy was one of a litter of 13 who was born here at the centre last year. Unfortunately he is now back with us looking for an active family who would love to welcome this handsome lad into their home.

Re-homing Criteria

Reggie loves to be out and about. We need a family that are willing to carry on with his training as he is so clever and just wants to please. A fully secure garden is a must with fencing of 6 foot to keep him safe and secure while in his own space.

Due to his size and training needs we are looking for families with children over the age of 12 years. Reggie would love to live with another dog, we do not know what he would be like with cats but we do know he is great around horses!

Reggie is a breed that has energy to burn, we can see him loving the outdoor lifestyle. Camping, hiking, milling around the stable yard and joining you on countryside hacks- he is not an urban dog and will never really enjoy that lifestyle.

Do you need a running companion, someone to hike up that Munroe with ... our Reggie could be the one!

Ghost is looking for an experienced owner who have a good understanding of dog body language. She would like her own private garden so she has her own safe space that she can enjoy peacefully. She needs to be the only pet in an adult only home.
Ghost is a lovely girl who will require a lot of time and patience in order for her to reach her full potential of making a fantastic companion. Our team have been working very hard with her to work on her confidence as she can become uncomfortable if unknown people try to approach her to say hello when she’s not ready to. She requires a knowledgeable owner who can see when she starts to feel unsure and allow her to take things in her own time which will be a gradual process.
Once she learns to trust you, she is very cuddly and enjoys sitting on your lap for some belly rubs. She is energetic, playful and loves running around with her favourite toys (although can get a bit too over excited at times!) She is full of beans, thoroughly enjoys her walks down to the beach and putting her nose to use so may enjoy an activity like scentwork. She hasn’t had much socialising with other dogs but does make friends with them if introduced properly.
Ghost has had treatment for her skin whilst with us. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.

Full of Life!

Skye is a young crossbreed that has loads of love to give and has bags of energy! She loves a fuss and a cuddle from the people she knows and a kick around with a football in the paddock is her favourite pastime. We find her to be quite settled in her kennel here at the center and she is great in the car.

This beautiful girl is completely deaf so has started learning her commands through hand signals. She is very clever so mental stimulation is a must.

Skye can be very unsure in new situations and doesn't always handle meeting new people well. If we felt you were a good match you would have to make multiple visits for her to get to know you. We are working with Skye to help her be less anxious around new people.

Skye isn't for the faint hearted! She is going to take a lot of patience and understanding to help her with her anxiety but will repay you with so much love once she feels comfortable around you.

History

We have known Skye since a young puppy. Sadly the two homes she has had since she has been with us haven't worked out so she's hoping it'll be third time lucky!

Re-homing Criteria

Skye is looking for an active home where she will be given the time and help she needs to adjust to a new environment. A quiet, adult only, rural home where she isn't having to meet new people all the time would be best. A secure garden with a 5ft+ fence is a must for her safety.

Skye has met cats in the past, but it wasn't a success, so a cat free household is a definite. Due to Skye's reactions to people she doesn't know, we won't be looking for a home where she'll come into contact with any children. Skye gets on well with most dogs but we would have to do introductions slowly.

Although Skye sounds like a lot of work, she deserves a home the same as any other dog in our care and with patience, time, support and love from the right person, we know she will make a great companion.

If you feel you have the lifestyle Skye is looking for, please fill in the Homefinding Questionnaire.

Smart, loving, and ready for his next adventure - Teddy is looking for the perfect home!

Teddy is a gorgeous Border Collie looking for a calm, child-free home where he can feel safe and secure.  He would do best as the only pet—he doesn’t get along with cats and isn’t suited to a home near livestock.  Teddy is housetrained and can be left alone for a few hours without issue.  He has good recall but can pull on the lead and reacts to traffic, so he needs a rural or quiet home away from busy roads.  Due to his hip dysplasia, his exercise should be controlled—he enjoys walks but isn’t suited for high-impact activities like repetitive ball chasing.  He loves being groomed, travels well in the car, and will make a loyal and loving companion for the right owner. If you can offer Teddy the safe and peaceful home he needs, he’ll reward you with his trust and affection.

History

Teddy was handed in for rehoming due to being uncomfortable around the young children in the house.

Re-homing Criteria

Teddy is a clever and loving boy looking for a quiet, breed-experienced home.  He has hip dysplasia, so he needs a secure garden for some gentle off-lead exercise.  He can be okay with other dogs, though he might prefer having doggy friends to living with them full-time.  Teddy would do best in a home without children or cats.

He’s super eager to learn and loves mental stimulation, so he’s looking for a family that can keep him engaged and give him the attention he needs.  If you’re experienced with the breed and think you could offer him the right home, get in touch!

Say hello to Cye, a stunning 2 ½-year-old black and tan Dobermann searching for a loving, breed-experienced home! This lively and intelligent girl is full of energy and enthusiasm, making her the perfect match for an active family committed to ongoing training and enrichment.

✨ About Cye:
✔️ Friendly with most dogs but can get over zealous during play.
✔️ Could live with older, dog-savvy children.
✔️ Crate trained and clean in the house.
✔️ Can be left alone for short periods.
✔️ Very clever and loves to learn!
✔️ Health conditions: Slightly underdeveloped eye, but no pain or discomfort (not on any medication).

🏡 Her Ideal Home:
Cye is currently in season and not yet spayed. While she does live with another dog, she plays too rough and would benefit from being the only pet in the household. She has been reported to be okay with cats, but we have not been able to cat test her.
This bouncy girl thrives on mental and physical stimulation, so she’d love a home that can provide structure, training, and plenty of adventures. If you have Dobermann experience and are looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion, she could be the perfect match!
