Milo Milo Milo

Milo at Borders Pet Rescue

A Male Crossbreed German Shepherd who is age 6 to 12 months

Good With Children

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Craigsford Earlston Scottish Borders TD4 6DJ

**WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM PEOPLE LIVING IN THE SCOTTISH BORDERS AT THIS TIME**

Please note that the rescue centre is currently closed to members of the public as per our Covid guidelines!

Milo will need several visits before he can be rehomed which is not possible due to current guidelines so anyone that applies we will take a note of interest.

Milo is a 1yr crossbreed. He is looking for a home where he will be the only pet and no young children. He needs a home that will give him the exercise he needs and also the mental stimulation that this intelligent boy needs. If he doesn’t get the mental stimulation he needs, then unwanted behaviour comes out. He is easily bored so it is important in his new home he is mentally stimulated. He does need some work around other dogs as he can react to some but will walk out with the other centre dogs.

In his new home he must have his own secure garden with at least 5ft fencing.

If you can offer Milo the above and live within the Scottish Borders please click HERE to fill in an application form in the first instance. (Please note we reply to all applications so if you do not have a reply within 24hours, please check your spam folder)

**WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM PEOPLE LIVING IN THE SCOTTISH BORDERS AT THIS TIME**

Please note that the rescue centre is currently closed to members of the public as per our Covid guidelines!

We have been asked to help to relocate some feral cats. We are looking for homes on farms or stables but due to current restrictions, you must live within the Scottish Borders.

The cats will need somewhere secure they can be kept for at least 2 weeks so they get to know their new home and they will also need to be fed as they are used to being fed where they currently are.

There has been cat flu in the feral colony and so they cannot be rehomed along other cats since they may not have symptoms but could still be carriers and spread it to other cats.

We are looking to rehome them in pairs or more from within the colony. They will be wormed, deflead and neutered where needed before going off to their new home.

If you live within the Scottish Borders and can provide the above situation for feral cats, please click HERE to apply. (Please note we reply to all applications so if you do not have a reply within 24hours, please check your spam folder)

Creed who is just about 1-year olf is a sweet and friendly boy once he gets to know you, he gets on well with other dogs and is good with children (teenagers+) however he does need a cat-free home.

Sid

Sid at Borders Pet Rescue

A Male Collie who is age 6 to 12 months

Good With Children Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Craigsford Earlston Scottish Borders TD4 6DJ

Sid is a friendly 9-month-old collie who is looking for a new home. Sid was going to be a working dog but unfortunately, he has a problem with his shoulder (see below) that meant he could not work. Sid is good around other dogs and does want to play with them so he could live with another dog if they get on. Sid has no experience with cats so is looking for a home without them. Sid has not been around children however we feel he could live with older children (10+). Sid will need some house training and some workaround chasing cars.

Sid has a piece of loose cartilage that is causing him to not put weight on one of his legs and can cause him to have a limp at times. After speaking with our vets we are going to try little and often gentle exercise in the hope that the bit of cartilage will move back behind the shoulder and then it should not be a problem. We are to give this around 2 months to see if it works, however, if it doesn’t will most likely need surgery to remove it. Sid needs to be on Loxicom daily to provide pain relief.

Sid was on kennel rest in his previous home so he has no muscle on that shoulder so again gentle exercise or even better some hydrotherapy would be a good thing for Sid.

With the above, Sid MUST have direct access to a secure garden and not live in a home where he will need to go up and downstairs (a flight of stairs for example) to get into the home.

If you can offer Sid the home he needs, please click HERE to fill in an application form in the first instance. (Please note we reply to all applications so if you do not have a reply within 24hours, please check your spam folder)

Axel and Rose are brother and sister who came in through no fault of their own, when we first got asked to take them in, we were told that they did not need to go together however after spending a little bit of time with them we can see that they are close, and we would prefer them to be adopted together in the first instance. Both are fully vaccinated and up to date with their de-flea and worm treatments.
