Rumo Rumo Rumo

Rumo at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Brindle Greyhound who is age 6 years

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In foster

We are seeking a very special home for a gorgeous 6 year old gentleman of a dog. Sadly due to a change in his family’s circumstances they are no longer able to look after him. He’s a stunning boy and has lived with all different breeds previously, although not with cats and he’s not spent much time around kids.

His new home needs to be quiet and with someone around most of the time because the poor boy has a heart condition. He needs a garden to potter around in as his exercise has to be limited and he will be on medication for life. He will be ideal for someone who leads a quiet life, who doesn't mind not going for long walks and who will give and receive love and cuddles. He loves the sofa, roaches a lot and chitters at the drop of a hat. He's just such a gentle, friendly, forgiving soul.

We would prefer him to be adopted but will consider long term fostering as an option. SGS may be able to contribute to ongoing costs for treatment. If you think you can provide this type of home and are interested in finding out more please contact us. Thank you.

Mac Mac Mac

Mac at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Black Greyhound who is age 3.5 years

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In kennels

Mac is a lovely black greyhound lad who is currently in kennels. With some good food, a bath and lots of tlc, Macs coat has finally started to shine and his amber tiger stripes are gleaming in the sun. Macs love, apart from having a quick run around, is food. Treats he will take gracefully from your hand and he waits patiently when breakfast and lunch is given out. His tail never stops wagging when people are around and he will stand for hours when you give him a good brush and rub down. A little strong on the lead but he is getting so much better. Ever so clean in his kennel and even his bed always looks so neat and tidy in the morning. Ladies are another love for Mac so maybe a family with an existing girlie would suit him.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Mac please click on the adoption link below to complete an online application form. For more information visit our website https://www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.

Murray Murray Murray

Murray at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Fawn Lurcher who is age 2 years

Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In foster

Murray is a gorgeous saluki cross lurcher. He was quite a shy and nervous boy but with the help of his foster family he is becoming braver every day, he's very cheeky and playful and loves a good run around. He lives with 3 females hounds at the moment and is good around all of the dogs he has met out and about so far. He needs to put on a bit of weight before he can be neutered but it won't be long before he is ready for homing! Murray will need an active home but in a quieter area, that has the time and patience to continue his training and boost his confidence. He doesn't like being left for long periods and would probably benefit from a doggy pal. We will continue to update on Murray as he gets himself ready to be rehomed!

Breeze Breeze Breeze

Breeze at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Male Black Greyhound who is age 8 years

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Breeze is quite timid with strangers but once you've gained his trust he is a fun loving, happy, slightly off the wall dog. He has absolutely no recall and a very high prey drive so although he is fine with other big dogs, small furries are a no no. And despite having only 3 legs he is very fast! Breeze can be quite a chatty lad; usually when he needs out for a pee, or wants his dinner, but may also be that you are currently occupying the sofa/bed that he fancies lying on. He may struggle with stairs as he gets on in life due to only having 3 legs, so perhaps isn't best suited to a flat.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Breeze please click on the adoption form link below. Or for more information, visit our website https://www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.

A Male Grey Lurcher who is age 7 years

Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Shelter Location: Cover all of Scotland and further afield if necessary

Jip is a lovely hairy lurcher boy, great with other dogs, calm in the house and with off-lead potential. His only downfall is that he suffers from Separation Anxiety, meaning that he cant be left alone. While SA is perfectly treatable it does take a long time to treat properly. This is support that SGS would be willing to provide as one of our Team is a professional behaviourist.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Jip please click on the adoption form link below. Or for more information, visit our website https://www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.

Lara Lara Lara

Lara at Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

A Female White and brindle Greyhound who is age 2 years

Good With Dogs

Contact Shelter Adoption Form

Pet Location: In foster

Lara is a ex coursing Greyhound who was retired, well say retired, her career did not take off at all, hence why she has come into Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary. Born and bred in Southern Ireland in April 2017, Lara is looking for a family to love her. A shy white and brindle girl who has stunning markings and such deep amber eyes. After just a short time mixing with other sighthounds, her gorgeous personality has started to shine through. Not a in your face girl, quite calm and quiet really, taking to lying on her duvet watching the world go by. Not into playing at the moment but it is still early days. Lara loves her food and given the chance will try whatever you have spare. To see her take a treat from your hand was just so rewarding as when she came, she use to wait till you dropped the treat on the floor before shyly moving to take it. Lara picked up house training so quickly, think her new friends helped her a lot. Lara would like a quiet home with maybe a companion or two.

If you have room in your home and your hearts for Lara please click on the adoption form link below. Or for more information, visit our website https://www.scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.org or you can email us at info@scottishgreyhoundsanctuary.com or phone us on 08456439335.
